How to stay cool in the Gerudo desert
To reach the city of Gerudo and fight Vah Rudania you will have to cross the desert. The temperature in this place fluctuates between two extremes: cold at night and really hot during the day, so much so that Link's energy quickly loses precious hearts.
The first item you can use to alleviate the effects of the unbearable heat is the Hydromelon: the fruit grows spontaneously in some areas of the desert, but you can also buy it at the Kara Kara Bazaar on the way to the city of Gerudo.
If cooked - even together with other foods - it allows Link to resist the heat, helping in crossing the desert.
For a more effective solution, however, it is advisable to get some clothes that will keep you cool. In the quest where you have to defeat Vah Naboris you will be required to enter the city of Gerudo unnoticed with a disguise to deceive the guards.
Going over the Kara Kara Bazaar in the afternoon you will find another man who has sneaked into the city before you: pay him for the Gerudo Veil, Gerudo Top and Gerudo Sirwal, garments that when worn together offer resistance to heat allowing Link to travel more easily in the desert.
Death Mountain and Goron City
The trip to the city of the Gorons to fight Vah Rudania requires a higher heat resistance than that offered by the outfit just listed: without the right protection, Link will literally catch fire and face certain death. The first, more complex solution is to look for the ingredients to create a fire potion yourself. The alternative, at the modest cost of 150 rupees, is to go north of the junction on the ternio Trail, west of Lake Cephla in the Eldin region: here you will find this Gaile, who will sell you three potions at a cost of 50 rupees each. .
When you start burning in the game, drink a potion and don't equip wooden items (the potion affects Link but not items).
The fire retardant potion has a lasting but not permanent effect. Continuing to climb Death Mountain look for the area called southern mines: here you will meet Kima, who will trade 10 fire lizards for permanently immune to flames armor. The lizards are in the same area as the mine: to catch them stay crouched and you shouldn't have any problems.
The flame-breaking armor that Kima will give you is a unique garment: unlike other outfits in the game, even wearing only one element of the set of three you will have the defense against fire active.
