The remastered of the first two Shenmue has also allowed younger gamers to approach the saga that tells the adventures of Ryo Hazuki in Shenmue I & II HD (which we recently reviewed). These two games at the time featured groundbreaking mechanics, which would have schooled and influenced many of the titles that would come later. It was very particular, for example, the choice not to make all combat moves available immediately, forcing the player to move around the world of Shenmue I & II HD trying to learn some new techniques.
Below you can find the list of moves that Ryo can learn and the places he will have to go to to do so.
These moves can be obtained in the Wise Men's Kung Fu in WanChai:
- Dragon Spin
- Oblique Air Kick
- Stepping Strike
- Twin palm Thrust
- Double Storm Kick
The following, however, can be obtained winning the Lucky Hit Stand challenge in Dragon Street, Kowloon:
- Monkey Roll Drop
- Heel Sweep
For these moves it will be necessary go to the first floor of the Thousand White Building:
- Serpent Coil
- Dragon Spin
- Oblique Slam
- Machine Gun Fist
- Demons Triangle
- Rear Foot Sweep
- Double Storm Kick
- Diagonal Wipe
Completing a day of work at Man Mo Temple, you can get:
- Mantis Combo
- Lunging Strike
- Horse Show Kick
- Stepping Strike
The remaining moves can be learned by NPCs during the game:
- Iron palm: to learn it, just go to Jianmin who can be found in Lotus Park.
- Counter Elbow Assault: will be taught by Xiuyung before going to Kowloon.
- Hind Blow: after helping Guixhang, he will teach us this move to pay off.
- Brawling Uppercut: Delin will teach us while we collect money for Ren.
- Wild Throw: Zhoushan will teach us it at the monk temple after we learn Hind Blow.
- Predictive Explosion: for this move it will be enough to go to the blind musician Kai who is in Kowloon.
