Caution: This guide is based on the English version of the game, but we hope that our tips will help you in the most difficult situations of this new chapter of Kingdom Hearts. The staff of Epic Videogames Guide wishes you a lot of fun!
Once the reports of Xehanort (refer to our guide to collect them all) and complete the stories of the three characters, you can access the final chapter. In this chapter the worlds are the same already visited during the three main adventures, with some differences for the Radiant Garden and for the Keyblade Cemetery.
Radiant Garden
Go to the garden to clash with Master Xehanort. The combat is the same one you faced at the end of Terra's story and the tactic we recommend you use is the same. As Aqua, you will have the Reflection Barrier ability, to be used in place of Parry: stop the enemy's attacks and press X with the right timing to counterattack.
The boss values are: 1200 HP, attack 27 and defense 16. The nemco is resistant to Blackout magic, but the spells in general will not serve you much at this juncture, since if you can predict Xehanort's moves the simple combination Reflex Barrier + Counter Blast will be enough to get the better of him.
Complete the fight to face the next one, against Master Xehanort and the Guardian. This boss has the same attack and defense values as the previous one, but more HP (1500). We recommend, as before, to avoid or block his attacks and then quickly counterattack with a combo (compared to other bosses, Xehanort is more vulnerable to direct attacks than to magic). Among the various attacks that the boss can carry out, two are the most insidious: he will throw balls at you that can blind you, or he will attack you from above (eight consecutive times) after the screen has gone completely black. In both cases, you need to have your reflexes ready to block attacks with the right timing and counterattack.
Towards the end of the fight, if you get hit by Xehanort or the Guardian, you will be temporarily transported to another dimension where your goal is to reach Earth without getting hit. The trick is to get close to the enemy and then jump away from him when he tries to attack you, so that his blows are successful. Once you reach Terra, use the usual Square + X key combination to start a combo. Last advice: if you need to heal yourself during the fight, do it as far as possible from the boss, after he has completed an attack that needs a few seconds of pause to recover energy (for example when he attacks you with the dark screen ): this way you will avoid being hit.
Vanitas's Lingering Spirit
Once you have beaten the previous boss you can clash against an even stronger opponent: choose the rescue of any character, then go to the Keyblade cemetery and get ready to fight.
The boss has only 200 hit points, but has an attack power of 80 and a defense of 27. We highly recommend a strategy that favors defense over attack, as a single hit from this enemy can be deadly. Equip your strongest finishing moves, Ultima Weapon, and as many healing potions as possible, since when you cast a spell to heal yourself, Vanitas will do the same, regaining as much strength as you do. Go into combat with characters at about level 50 or higher, otherwise beating him in this form will be really tough.
The boss has a wide variety of attacks: he'll throw fireballs at you, double up trying to blind you, teleport, attack you from underground and, if you throw a spell at him, he'll always dodge it by teleporting next to you and immediately counterattacking. .
There is no absolute best strategy to emerge victorious from this fight, as it changes based on the character used. With Terra, it is a good tactic to stun him with a Blast Shield or Explosive Ring after avoiding his attack, and then hit him before he recovers: this way you will quickly fill the command bar and you can use your finishing move. With Ven you will have to try to hit Vanitas with the Tornado ability: sink the attack when the enemy is recovering after an attack or after you have stunned him with the Explosive Shield or Explosive Ring skills (as recommended for Earth) and you will be able to take away a lot of energy. Finally, with Aqua, you will have to use the Minesweeper skill to plant traps that can stun Vanitas and, at the same time, take away his energy; the best way to be sure that the enemy is hit by mines is to use them when he attacks you from underground: use them at the last moment and dodge the attack of Vanitas to make all mines hit him as soon as he leaves the ground.
Mysterious Figure
Once Vanitas has also landed, load up a save and return to the Starting Land, where the real final battle of Birth By Sleep awaits.
We recommend first of all to try to learn the attack patterns of the boss, much more powerful than any other enemy encountered in the game: like Vanitas this boss can teleport to catch you by surprise, he is able to launch orbs of light and to heal himself by stopping the time (while you will be immobilized). As if that were not enough, when he has less than 50% of remaining energy this boss will become invisible, continuing to attack you with all the attacks at his disposal.
The good news is that you can dodge virtually every attack by pressing the Square key. By continuing to dodge, you can complete the fight by hitting the enemy with magical attacks in the short period of time between attacks. another good strategy is to use the Explosive Ring ability: this attack will not cause damage but allows you to accumulate energy to perform your final move. The strategy will be the same even when the boss becomes invisible: keep dodging him until he reappears, then hit. During the latter part of the fight, forget about the Explosive Ring and rely more on abilities such as Blazing Blitz, which are more effective at hitting the boss as soon as it comes back in view.
Finish this fight and you have defeated all the bosses of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Staff Epic Videogames Guidewishes you good luck!
