December was not a good month for Kingdom Hearts fans. Square Enix has flooded us with trailers, sure, so much so that a good 50% of the game is already in the public domain. As for the other 50%, the so-called leakers, or some of them, have thought of it funny guys who got hold of the title more than a month before the official release who decided to show unreleased parts of the long-awaited game. The thief, who had scattered some copies on the Facebook marketplace, would have been captured and the epidemic stopped, but the internet remains a dark place full of terror.
To keep the experience as intact and pure as possible of the final chapter of the Xehanort saga, we have decided to compile this guide on how to avoid spoilers about Kingdom Hearts III on the main social networks (and not): Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit e Twitch.
The dozens of copies sold are in the open, and although Nomura said (rather implausibly) that "the ending and the secret cutscene, which are the game's biggest spoilers, will be released later, so they won't be shown before title release ”, be cautious when only one month left to release it's just healthy prevention.
So here's how to limit the risk of spoilers:
Twitter:
Twitter it's a minefield when it comes to spoilers of any kind. The social network is not controlled as it should, which is why it is easier for those who spoil it to get away with it. With the "Silence" function, they can, however change unwanted keywords, phrases and hashtags, as well as blocking natural life during those who want to ruin the experience (without them knowing it, so unpleasant situations are not created). To activate this mode: go to the profile you want to mute, and select Mute from the options by clicking on the three vertical dots icon. Muting hashtags means removing tweets with related keywords from the Notifications tab, push notifications, SMS, notification emails, main history and replies to Tweets.
To silence the hashtags instead just click from the profile picture, settings and privacy, muted words, add the desired words, choose by whom and for how long (from 24 hours up to forever). To reactivate the blocked word or hashtag, click the mute button. From mobile the path is: settings, notifications, notification settings up to selecting the type of notifications to stop receiving; you can too stop following that person who waits for Kingdom Hearts III like you, but is a little too talkative about it (you can always follow it again, once the waters have calmed down).
There would also be the recent function "Snooze", which allows you to silence groups and contacts for up to 30 days… perfect right? Too bad he is alone at the moment usable by US users.
Here too, as on Twitter, the advice of disable automatic video playback. On mobile just go to the settings, multimedia content and contacts and in automatic playback “never play videos automatically”. On PC the path to take is settings, video, automatic video playback, disable. Your rate plan will thank you anyway.
Instagram:
Instagram is the place where Facebook and Twitter meet: you decide who to follow, but hashtags are also present. Aside from the evergreen block, there isn't much you can do. Avoid hashtags similar to those on Twitter, such as:
# KingdomHearts3
#KingdomHeartsIII
#KingdomHearts
#KH3
#KHIII
Reddit:
Reddit, a place full of information, is a separate discussion: i subreddits are moderate and spoilers are discouraged and promptly removed, but moderators cannot always be present, so here too there is a risk of spoilers, especially the threads kh3islife and kh3islifepart2. The solution, in this case, is that of temporarily unsubscribe from video game-themed subreddits, the most common ones but also some unexpected affiliates, such as the Skrillex subreddit (singer who collaborated with Utada Hikaru for Kingdom Hearts III) also infected with spoilers by reflex. Some examples of subreddits to avoid for a month if you want to rest assured:
Gaming
GAMES
PS4
XboxOne
Skrillex
SquareEnix
KingdomHeartsSpoilers (but go?)
YouTube:
YouTube, with thousands of videos uploaded daily, it's a spoiler hearth. The suns previews in trend, in order to raise curiosity and visits, are at high risk of spoilers. After all, an image is worth a thousand words.
To minimize the risk of spoilers you can activate the restricted mode. It is a mode that allows you to "exclude potentially inappropriate content for minors that you prefer not to see or do not want to be seen". Basically, it is a parental control which disables comments on the videos you watch and allows YouTube to filter inappropriate content based on the title, description and metadata of the videos. Not specifically Kingdom Hearts III, but it sure can help.
To activate (and deactivate) the restricted mode just click on your profile icon at the top right and, in fact, activate the special mode. In general, however, try to limit yourself only to serious and trusted YouTube channels.
Twitch:
For Twitch, the comments of users who follow the direct make the site the Wild West spoilers. Especially in heavily populated live shows, the spoiler could come from anyone at any time. The golden tip in this case is to do without Twitch for a month.
Finally, there would also be another possibility: completely obscure social networks and retire to the room a replay the Kingdom Hearts saga waiting for the third chapter! A free social network month, in short, which obviously is just a joke… although, perhaps, the most effective of all.
