LA Noire, Case 12 - "The Studio Secretary Murder"
Start the case by going to the shop, where the clerk will show you 2 different rings: examine them both until you read the caliber written inside. Then continue towards the station (the crime scene): first of all talk to the coroner, then check the victim's head and right arm. Continue to the yellow carpet further ahead, with the subsequent tests: read the letter in the purse, check the ticket, the matchbox and the receipt, examining everything as always carefully looking for the right viewing angle to get all the clues ( the camera will zoom when you find something). Now talk to those present, until you question John (the black guy):

- Statement 2: DOUBT
Step away from the train and use the telephone connected to the pole to call the station and get the address of your next destination. Once you arrive at Mensch's Bar, talk to customers, questioning McCaffrey (the man in the white shirt sitting at the back);
- Statement 1: DOUBT
- Statement 2: DOUBT
Continue now towards the next destination. Once in the liquor store, go to the back (you will have to go through a couple of doors) and examine the objects (a figurine and a pin) in the left corner just behind the last door you went through. Then turn your attention to the side of the mattress, where you will find a photograph and a book, of which you will have to examine the writing on the inside of the cover. before leaving, finally, also examine the photograph on the boxes in the corner of the room that you have not yet explored. Now retrace your steps and question the shop owner:
- Statement 1: TRUE
- Statement 2: TRUE
- Statement 3: DOUBT
Once back in the car, a message will tell you to go back to the police station. Before you do that, go back to Mensch's Bar to question McCaffrey again. You'll ask him one more question, and he'll lie (the book you found earlier is proof of the lie).
Return to the police station and talk to the colleague at the reception, who will tell you that the others are waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs. Go right and go down, watch the cutscene, then use a phone to find out about your next destination: bowling. Once there, talk to the woman at the counter, then head outside to face a car chase. Once the action is over, go to McCafrey's apartment: check your mailboxes as usual to find out which apartment to enter; once inside go left and examine the handwritten note on the bedside table; then examine the bloody shirt and the dirty pipe on the floor. At this point a woman will come in to inform you that your man is running away: chase him and capture him, then return to the police station for two interrogations. Go first to room number 1 (James):
- Statement 1: FALSE
- Statement 2: DOUBT
- Claim 3: FALSE (proof is the purchase of the liquor)
- Statement 2: DOUBT
In room number 2, however, you will question McCafrey again. NB: be careful, the two questions could be reversed, depending on how you collected and examined the clues at the beginning of the case.
- Statement 1 (alibi): FALSE (the proof is the letter)
- Statement 2: FALSE (proof is James's accusation)
Now go back to room number 1 for one last question to James: he will lie to you. Go out and use the phone at the front desk for a call, then go back to McCafrey again to ask him about his military service - he'll lie to you too. At this point you will have enough proof: accuse McCafrey and you will have closed the case.
