The development of Lords of the Fallen 2 is undoubtedly what can be defined problematic work, which we started hearing about in 2017 between ups and downs and, above all, budget cuts, and then recently made a comeback with the announcement of its future availability on next-gen consoles.
The work has been entrusted by CI Games to a subsidiary team, Hexworks, who will work on the project to bring it to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. Today we can see Lords of the Fallen 2 only through its logo, not unlike that of the first chapter but in which it heads a simple "2".
In the words of Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, let's find out more about the objectives and the status of the work:
Lords of the Fallen 2 is our largest project of all CI Games. The previous chapter was a full-price, full-featured title, and we're approaching the next with even broader ambitions. The sequel will move the franchise towards dark fantasy and offer a revised and challenging combat system.
Currently CI Games is also working on Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, a title which, unlike Lords of the Fallen 2, will be marketed in the course of 2021 at a budget price. Waiting to find out more about Lords of the Fallen 2, of which apart from the logo nothing else has been shown, we can say that the Polish studio probably continues to look to the Souls series as a reference point for their second souls-like and more ambitious project.
