A remastered Mass Effect trilogy, probably titled, is due to be released in early 2021 Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. The indiscretion comes from Jeff Grub di VentureBeat, who first released the remaster earlier this year and spoke to sources close to Electronic Arts and BioWare about the development.
According to Grub, what is making the Legendary Edition developers waver is the original Mass Effect, which he is experiencing quality problems in terms of graphics and Gameplay. While Mass Effect 2 and 3 will come with major updates, BioWare wants to ensure that all three games perform well. Grub also reported that the package will not include Mass Effect 3 multiplayer because that would turn the trilogy into a live service. What is included in the package is all downloadable content ever released for all three games.
At the moment, it is unclear whether the Legendary Edition will be released on next-generation platforms or not. So far, we've only seen reseller listings for the latest generation releases. But everything remains shrouded in mystery, for now it's just about rumors and therefore there are no official announcements.
