4A Games has officially announced that it is working on the next gen console version of Metro Exodus. The news comes from a post published directly on the website of the development studio for the XNUMXth anniversary of the Metro series (considering Metro 2033 was released in 2010). On the same page we find other interesting information for this new version: first of all we will have the opportunity to play this last chapter of the series on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S with improved framerate, higher resolution, reduced loading times and Ray Tracing.
In addition, all owners of the current versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will get access to this new edition totally free. This is obviously a valid upgrade not only for those who already have the versions of the now past generation, but also for all those who decide to buy the title in the future. The developers also intend to expand the user base of Metro Exodus not only to next gen consoles, but also by publishing versions for Linux and Mac in the future (in addition to the recent publication on Amazon Luna).
Unfortunately these are the only information disclosed regarding Metro Exodus; in fact, we do not have any certain date (other than a generic 2021). On the other hand, however, on the same page, we find some data on the future plans of the group. It is thus confirmed that the studio is currently working on a new chapter in the Metro series and that, thanks to their new partnership with Saber, they also intend to experiment with the multiplayer sector. However, Metro is not the only title on which 4A Games is working: we are talking about a new IP AAA for which their offices in Malta and Kyiv are currently hiring.
