The three leading companies in the world of video games, Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, have established a cooperation in order to make the world of gaming safer for all its users, especially the younger and weaker groups. This important initiative of the three giants in question was announced with an official statement from Dave McCarthy, Corporate Vice President, Xbox Operations, formally shared by Sony and Nintendo.
In the text of the declaration, which you can read in full here, the intention to protect all gamers, especially the youngest and most vulnerable, is clearly set out, and to do this the three companies undertake to cooperate and commit their resources and technologies, basing on specific principles. These are three and we explain them below:
- Prevention: Give players and their guardians the ability to understand and control their gaming experiences
- Partnership: we are committed to collaborating with industry, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies and the community in order to improve the safety of gamers
- Reliability: We hold ourselves primarily responsible for making our platforms as secure as possible for all gamers
We always read in the statement on the Microsoft website: "We play for many reasons: to satisfy our imagination, to socialize with friends or our family, to test our skills, to learn thanks to technology or simply to relax and pass. the weather. Like other social activities, the video game creates meaningful connections between gamers of various types and reminds us that, thanks to this shared passion, we can have a lot in common. […] If we work together for the same purpose, we can achieve better results, and for this we will continue to invest, evolve and amplify our approaches to gamer safety. […] Protecting players can be a complex challenge in a digitally and often instantly connected world.
The collaboration confirms our commitment to improve player safety and ensure that gaming remains truly open to all. While on the one hand the videogame industry has a long history behind it in promoting the safety of its users, especially when it comes to children, on the other hand we recognize that no company or industry can ever win this challenge alone ".
