A post on Facebook and a photo with the imposing Nintendo offices, currently empty, and Takaya Imamura's announcement that she is leaving Mario's company after 32 years of working together. After the announcement at Sony of Teruyuki Toriyama in recent weeks, another creative decides to close a chapter of his working life to go further.
Today is my last day of work, I wanted to take a selfie with the empty office building behind me. It saddens me a lot to think that I don't have to come here anymore… Hats off to myself for 32 years of hard work!
These are the words of the now former Nintendo creative Takaya Imamura who is best known for working as a graphic designer on the original F-Zero and Star Fox titles, And is his hand behind the character designs of historical figures such as Captain Falcon and Fox McCloud.
But Imamura's career also sees him as art director in Star Fox 64, chief designer for F-Zero X, art director in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (including the creation of Tingle) and then get to the role of producer for Star Fox: Assault and Star Fox: Command.
Imamura does not, however, abandon the gaming world as he has announced that he will work as a freelance in the future, we just have to wish him a long and prosperous career!
