The long wave of next-gen renewal could also bring a sequel for PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds, battle royale par excellence for some time landed on each gaming platform. The indiscretion comes from Korea and immediately sent the twitter accounts of fans of the title, now dating back to 2016, into turmoil.
#PUBG just confirmed that they're working on PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0
Global announcement soon?
The secret #ProjectXTRM thing from last yr was a PUBGM2 all along. I knew XTRM was a mobile game.
So I didn't make a update video on it. Got so tilted when I learned about it. pic.twitter.com/50hnX60epv

PUBG was in fact the first game to make the concept of battle royale known and spread, a type subsequently exploded (and exploited) properly by other titles, one above all Fortnite by Epic Games. Before the current indiscretion on a potential sequel, there was talk of PUBG even a few weeks ago. In fact, it seems that the Callisto Protocol presented at this year's Game Awards is actually a spin-off taken from the shooter's plot, projected forward by 300 years.
The publisher of PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds (which also has the same name as the game - ed) is therefore working on some kind of sequel. It seems that it will also be available for PC, console and mobile devices, but there isn't much more technical information about it.
It is therefore not clear what this sequel will be like: it could try to be something different or simply an updated and refined 2.0 version of the game we now know well. What do you expect?
