Sony announced its financial results for the quarter that ended on 30 September 2020: sales of PlayStation 4 they have reached i 113.8 million units, a value to which the 1.5 million of consoles sold in the last quarter, a lower value than in the same period of 2019, in which they were sold 2.8 million of PS4.
A predictable decline but which still attests the console to excellent levels, especially considering the current period of economic uncertainty and above all the advent - next month - of PlayStation 5.
Other important numbers can be extracted from the full report, from which we learn how PlayStation Plus currently accounts 45.9 million members, a figure far higher than the 36.9 million (in the same period for the last fiscal year).
Also on the software side, the 80.9 million of units sold in the second quarter of fiscal 2020, a value greater than 70.6 million of the previous year. Of these sales, 12.4 million come from first-party titles (6.3 million the previous year). It is also interesting to note theincrease in the sale of digital video games, Or the 59% of the total. An emblematic number and growing compared to 45% in the same period in 2019, with 2018 which in its entirety instead had 37% of copies sold digitally compared to the total.
