Sony has not yet revealed the introductory price of PlayStation 5, unlike what is done by Microsoft products, which unveiled the prices of the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The well-known insider Dusk Golem has however relaunched a rumor that Sony may decide to sell the console at a lower cost than production.
The components used to produce the console will become cheaper over time, but I believe they will eventually sell it for less than the production price. I believe the PS5 price will be $ 549 for the standard disc version, but Sony may grit its teeth and decide to sell it for $ 499.
According to the insider, the production cost of the new console would be $ 600, which would prompt Sony to re-evaluate the figure to try to sell the next generation console without exceeding the price of Xbox Series X.
