Resident Evil: new Outbreak or Revelations 3?

Resident Evil: new Outbreak or Revelations 3?

After the announcement of Resident Evil Village, in recent months, Capcom has been put in the spotlight after several very substantial leaks, which would reveal one substantial list of games in progress for the next few years at the Japanese company. But apparently the leaked news would not seem just simple rumors, given that some of this information should not have been disclosed, as it even contains particularly sensitive data.

Resident Evil: new Outbreak or Revelations 3?

Obviously the fans started to sift through the various news in search of some scoop and among the various information the name of resident evil outbreak jumped to the eye, which would be on the list of games in production at Capcom studios. obviously the two hypotheses that have taken hold are the way of the remake or that of a new title and, apparently, a Capcom insider intervened to mitigate (or feed?) the doubts.

The Resident Evil Outbreak series has two chapters on PlayStation 2, namely the first Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2. Both titles made headlines especially for the multiplayer component that at the time fascinated millions of players, who had to move and survive in different areas of Raccoon City during the biological incident we all know.

The famous Capcom insider, Dusk Golem, who we remember being particularly active in this 2020 regarding the various rumors, however, he would have dropped the rumors about Outbreak by feeding those of Resident Evil: Revelations 3 instead.

Resident Evil: new Outbreak or Revelations 3?

We remember that the Revelations story is considered a "subplot", even though it is directly related to the main mainline of the series. The first Revelations is placed in the time frame between Resident Evil 4 and 5, while the second chapter between Resident Evil 5 and 6. These two chapters have been a good success among the public, especially thanks to the return of some iconic protagonists of the franchise (Claire and Barry) along with new faces.

In any case, although Dusk Golem brought up Revelations 3 and made Outbreak decay, the information available to us at this time is very little. It is unclear if Outbreak is just a code name that appeared by chance among the various leaks or if the eventual Revelations 3 could perhaps connect in some way to the old multiplayer chapters for PlayStation 2.

It's Revelations 3, not Outbreak 3. I won't say more than that for now though. https://t.co/Yl6peklnbX

We remind you that usually the insider Dusk Golem is quite reliable as an informer, but we advise you at least for now to take all these rumors with pliers and wait for information from official sources, information that will most likely be slow to arrive given the media attention bet almost exclusively on the announced Resident Evil Village, which should see the light around April 2021.
