During an interview with the Korean magazine N Sports, Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan has been very optimistic about the sales of the new console. Ryan said he expects that, by the close of the fiscal year, the new console will surpass the sales of PlayStation 4 in the same period.
I mean, for Ryan's prediction to happen, PlayStation 5 is expected to sell more than 7 million units by the end of March 2021. As some would say: "Optimism is the scent of life". The pre-orders, however, don't make the president's expectations seem too unlikely.
To try to deliver all pre-orders in a reasonable time, try to match demand and exceed initial PS4 sales, it seems that the companies dedicated to the production of the new console are working hard to try to produce 15 million units by the end of March.
We remember that PlayStation 5 will be released in the United States and Japan on November 12, 2020, while it will arrive in the old continent a week later: November 19, 2020.
