Since its announcement, which took place during an Xbox Games Showcase event, there have been a few but important updates on STALKER 2, a title that will arrive on PC and exclusively on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
Via Xbox Wire, the developer GSC Game World commented on STALKER 2 in the new gameplay teaser providing some updates on the status of the work:
A glimpse of the game world seen through the eyes of a stalker named Skif, a name we will often hear about (according to the development study) and which will mark a new chapter in the history of the “Zone”. The short video of STALKER 2 shows a ruined school located in the suburbs of Pripyat and it is certainly an inhospitable place, as evidenced by the new teaser released, however not completely abandoned: in fact we see a fire just lit with a guitar in its vicinity.
Skif perceives the danger represented by an emission, an entity already known to fans of the STALKER series and capable of killing almost instantaneously. The best way to escape one of these events is to hide and wait for it to finish, and that's probably what Skif is trying to do: find a refuge to escape mortal danger.
After commenting on what was shown in the video, GSC Game World provides some updates on the status of the work indicating that they are progressing smoothly, including the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions. Their goal is to deliver a product featuring the highest quality possible on each of the platforms on which it was announced. Certainly taking advantage of the SSD, the RTX support and the 4K resolution, the studio declares itself satisfied with how STALKER 2 represents the definitive experience that they had initially promised themselves.
STALKER 2 release date has not yet been announced by GSC Game World but the title will certainly arrive on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
