A new title focusing on the huge and beloved universe of Star Wars would be in the works at Massive Entertainment: this was announced by the financial director of Ubisoft, Frederick Duguet, taking advantage of the company's recent quarterly earnings meeting.
The rumors about the existence of the title have already made themselves heard in the past by proposing an open world title, but without providing further details regarding the possible gameplay or the name of the game.
According to what recently said by the financial director Duguet, the CEO and the creative director of Massive Entertainment - respectively Yves Guillemot and Julien Gerigthy - the situation would not have changed, and the title based on the world of Star Wars would still be in the early stages of development.
What was certain was the excitement of the team currently working on the game, which was enthusiastic to be able to get their hands on a universe so vast and full of potential ideas, as well as a source of motivation. To speak in this sense was the CEO, Guillemot, who stated that the possibility of building new worlds, characters and stories for the universe of Star Wars can be a great way to work closely with Lucasfilm Games and to create an original adventure, completely new compared to past chapters.
To comment on the union of forces between Ubisoft Massive and Lucasfilm Games it was also Gerigthy, who stated that the title currently in development wants to be a way both to bring both historical fans of the saga closer and to allow newcomers to the genre to know it.
At the moment, unfortunately, in addition to these promising statements, no further details have been provided regarding the title based on the universe Star Wars.
