Multiple Tetris champion Jonas Neubauer passed away at the age of only 39.
The sad news was announced by a post on his Twitter account, which was then promptly retweeted by the official Tetris profile which defined him "one of the greatest Tetris players of all time in skill, wit and kindness".
The cause of death was reported as a generic "sudden medical emergency". As specified by the tweet, updates will follow.
Neubauer specialized in the NES version of Tetris and has won the Classic Tetris World Championship seven times (2010-2013, 2015-2017), a competition in existence since 2010.
In the video below we can see him in action during his last official match held on November 22nd at the Classic Tetris World Championship 2020.
We at EpicTrick just have to remember it and offer our deepest condolences to family and friends.
