The Medium, the latest effort by Bloober Team - released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC - is a game with many puzzles to solve, some more difficult than others. One of them is finding the correct secret door code in the basement of a burnt house. Below you will find the direct solution, but also a detailed guide on how to solve the puzzle.
How to get to the secret door code in The Medium
The basement is very large and outside the main room there are several smaller rooms. You'll find the secret locked door in the crack in the wall that Marianne has to interact with. Once inside, however, you will find that you do not know the combination of the door. The entire code is not in the basement, but there are two key pieces of information from which it can be deduced.
Head to the basement side room where you will find a locker and table. On the table you will find a piece of paper and in the cabinet a small box. The box in the locker is the container for a pocket watch. The watch is not in the box, but inside you will find a message indicating that it was a 10th anniversary gift.
The piece of paper on the table is actually the receipt for the watch. If you look closely you will notice that the date is 1976. So considering that the gift was purchased for a 10th anniversary, the date and key number are consequently found thanks to these two numbers.
The secret door code in The Medium
If you don't want to waste time solving the puzzle, here is the solution: the door code is 1966. To find it, just subtract 10 from 1976, as explained better in the previous lines. Once the code has been entered, the door will open and Marianne can continue.
