Obviously, the initial success of the game, both critically and commercially, bodes well for the future. To be honest, in recent years, Tony Hawk Pro Skater he found himself in a decidedly difficult situation that even put it at risk of cancellation.
After the sad answer to Tony Hawk Pro 5 Skater, a game that many would like to pretend it doesn't even exist, it seems that going back to the roots of the franchise with THPS 1 + 2 was the right choice. Whether or not Activision will decide to leverage this new momentum for a new entry into the series remains to be seen (just as it did with Crash 4) or whether he will choose to continue re-doing the old episodes.
