Players can jump right into the action by choosing a pre-built deck or dive into the card system's many customization options to create your own bespoke deck. Back 4 Blood will leverage an adaptive AI known as the Game Director, who works behind the scenes to monitor player actions, health and choices. It responds accordingly by changing environmental conditions, adding obstacles and triggering special mutations of infested through modifiers of the card system called bribery cards. Players, as they face hordes of enemies in their path, can change the game conditions by using specific cards that strategically counter the Game Director, for example by upgrading equipment or reloading weapons.
