Of all the rare Pokémon featured in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Mewtwo is certainly the most difficult to capture, and needs good preparation. Unfortunately, you will only be able to meet him far later in the adventure, after defeating the Elite Four and earning the title of League Champion.
For sure you have gained a certain level of experience, but we still want to give you some advice on this, because the fight should not be underestimated at all.
Now go to Celestopoli and cross the Pepita Bridge. Use the Water Slide technique to continue up the river to the entrance to the Celestial Cave, which is currently accessible. Before continuing, we recommend that you save your game. As you enter, keep using the Water Slide to explore the inside of the cave and when you're ready, go up the ladder to the left. From here, head north until you reach a final ladder that will take you to Mewtwo.
The best way to deal with it is to teach Spite (TM21, get it from Cinnamon Island) to Mew or any other psycho-type Pokémon. If you have not yet managed to get Mew, we explain how to do it in the following guide. Using the Spite skill is important because it allows you to reflect some of the damage against your opponent. His attacks will then be hardly effective against a psychic type, thus increasing your chance of success.
By doing this, you should be able to quickly eliminate a good fifty percent of his health and impart other massive damage should he heal himself. The battle has a five-minute clock and if you fail to capture it within this time limit, Mewtwo will escape. In this case, load the save you just created and start over.
If you still have the Master Ball snatched from Team Rocket, use it to get the better of the enemy without further headaches. Otherwise, we wish you to be in possession of several Ultra Balls, because Mewtwo will be very difficult to capture.
