In terms of performance, the next one PlayStation 5 it is undoubtedly an excellent console. As you can see thanks to ours review that you can find on our pages, PS5 is an excellent machine but there is one aspect that Sony has never taken care of for two generations: the reproduction of multimedia contents. With PlayStation 5, Sony continues its “minimalist” path, already seen with PlayStation 4, where the focus of the Japanese console is and remains the "video game", everything else is pure outline.
PS5, in this respect it does not change much what was seen with PlayStation 4, it definitively abandons the "media player" in favor of a dedicated "video" section. In this section players can find all the major streaming apps. Sony with PS5, remove the media player present with PlayStation 4, with this absence it is not possible - for now - to play multimedia contents on USB; It is unclear if this feature comes later with some updates or has been completely abolished by Sony. The apps present in the "video" section are redirected to HDR 10, where the TV supports it, but strangely nothing 4K like in the case of Disney +.
