Between prizes and problems, PlayStation 5 is undoubtedly making people talk about itself, also due to the complete sold-out recently confirmed by the CEO Jim Ryan. The look therefore goes to the future, of the brand and of the console, a future that would seem ready to unfold according to timelines to which by now we should be accustomed.
In line with the previous generation, in fact, Sony would like to keep PlayStation 5 on the market for a period that goes from the 5 7 years, before introducing the next generation. At least, that's what Jim Ryan says to GQ England's microphones.
We are very optimistic about the future of PlayStation 5 in the next 5, 6, 7 years. After that, who knows? I think the “cloud” will take hold more and more, despite the constant and continuing problems in creating suitable business models and the challenges offered by the technology itself.
It makes us smile to think back to the many analysts who would have seen the end of the consoles as we conceive them now in 2020, to express himself about it is Ryan himself.
Much of my life at PlayStation has been listening to analysts and experts tell me this generation was going to be the last because something would make the idea of the physical console itself obsolete. I'm sure these people are professionals and convinced of their opinions, but, at least until now, the reality of things sees them in error.
Sony's future is yet to be written, almost certainly, among game collections perhaps expanding and interesting as required updates.
We just have to play and wait for this future ...
