In Dark Souls II, alongside the Old Dragon Slayer, the Tower of Heide's Flame another boss awaits us, the Knight of the Dragons. He too, is not an overly formidable enemy, but only if you have pulled the two levers on the map. In fact, they will make the battle arena much wider, making the battle much easier. You are ready?
Strategy and useful tips:
First of all, let's make a premise: it's not worth trying to parry his attacks, because you would find yourself with very little stamina remaining, assuming you stay alive and cannot attack him. This battle is not overly complex, if you can learn the right moment to dodge. But remember one thing: don't attack him with more than one or two hits, otherwise it will end badly. Dodge everything well, keep to his left (where he has the shield), trying to go around him, and attack him only after you have dodged his blows. If you're a caster, just keep your distance and attack him without letting him get close. Follow these few little tips and in no time you will win the victory.
If you just want to kill the boss without making even a minimum of effort, know that there is a way, similar to that to kill Manus in the first Dark Souls: from the place where the first lever is located, you can aim your bow at the boss , visible in the arena and hit him until he dies.
Attacks:
- Shield: when the boss runs towards you, he will throw a powerful shield, able to take away all your stamina;
- Lunge: lunge that the Knight makes with the halberd, both parables and dodging with relative ease;
- Sweep: the boss performs two circular halberd strikes, plus three more once he has less than half life;
- Sweep: frontal blow that the Knight makes with his halberd, sometimes after the sweeps, very powerful and to be avoided absolutely;
- Guard: The boss holds up his shield to protect himself, and if you attack him when he is in this position, he will hit you (or at least try to).
Drop:
- Soul of the Dragon Knight;
- 12000 souls.
Lore:
This giant armored warrior, wielding a giant halberd, is a creature shrouded in mystery, one of the most mysterious in all of Dark Souls II. We know that he belonged - probably - to the order of those who worshiped the cult of dragons, whose "home" was the Dragon's Nest and not, therefore, the location where we find him to face us. Probably, the darkness of Nashandra has ended up infecting even these fascinating warriors, since we will also find them in the King's Castle ready (there will be two) to give battle.
This concludes our Dark Souls II guide to defeating the dragon knight.
