There are different areas in Dark Souls where to farm souls, depending on the level of the character, in order to upgrade him or to be able to buy equipment and items useful for the adventure.
Village of the Undead
Once you reach the bridge with the dragon it will be enough to go beyond the stairs to make the dragon breathe fire by killing all the undead on the bridge. You simply have to take cover to receive up to 555 souls with very little effort. Subsequently to repeat this operation it will be sufficient to rest at the nearest bonfire to allow the respawn of the undead.
Dark Root Garden
Buy the key (cost 20,000 souls) from the blacksmith near the Undead Church to open the sealed door in this area. Once you pass the door you will find 6 human enemies who will give you a number of souls varying from 1000 to 5000 each. Beware of the knight, the archer and the thief, who will be invisible!
The best strategy to farm in this area even with a low level of your PC is to equip yourself lightly, run through the forest and attract enemies near the stairs we came from. Here you can hide in a small space between the cliff and the stairs. The enemies will not follow you but will climb the stairs and then fall below in an attempt to reach you. To repeat the strategy, it will be sufficient to rest at the bonfire in the illusory wall before the door.
Anor Londo
Near the Anor Londo's first bonfire there will be six Sentinels who will give you the beauty of 1500 souls each. The usual speech is always valid, to repeat the operation it will be enough to rest at the bonfire and get the enemies respawn
Should you decide to kill Gwynevere two enemy knights will appear in the area just before the fight with Smaugh and Ornstein. Each of these knights will give you 5000 souls each, and if your level is high enough, it will be possible to defeat them in minutes. The only drawback concerns the fact that these two knights will only respawn when you rest at the bonfire present in the Princess Room
Crystal cave
After defeating Seath the Scaleless you will discover a bonfire that is very useful for farming. From here you can deal with the Man-eating shells they will drop 1000 souls each and on various occasions there will be a Cleansing Stone or a Sparkling Titanite (resalable for additional souls). Clearing the area will take a few minutes and will earn you around 6000 souls plus any items.
