Although the various versions of the creature have slightly different characteristics, there are some tricks that you will discover to be valid for each of them. Each type of Grafton Monster present in Fallout 76 will in fact inflict considerable damage on you both with an unarmed shot and through the launch of rocks and oil bombs. It seems evident, therefore, that attempting a close approach would lead you straight to death and it is preferable to damage the enemy by staying at a distance.
Before hitting him with bullets in the shoulder area (one is larger than the other and seems to replace the head as a weak point), it can be extremely helpful to try to damage it with explosive weapons. If grenades, rockets or Molotov cocktails abound in your inventory, it's time to use them, as you will save a lot of ammunition.
