Abysstaker and Examtaker: the new contents of the latest update.
The 11 may 2021 Helltaker was one year old. To celebrate the anniversary of the release, the developer Vanripper released on Steam new content for his game. Among these, two new achievements, an alternative ending and an extra chapter, with gameplay dynamics quite modernized compared to the original core of the game, which had already fascinated a large slice of the users of the Valve store.
The most substantial element of the Helltaker update is certainly the extra chapter, Examtaker. It basically consists of a series of six levels, half of which replicate the structure of the main ones, while others turn out to be simply games of timing and speed. At the end of the sixth phase there will be a boss fight similar to the one already faced against Judgment.
Simply completing the game is not enough to unlock Examtaker, it will be necessary to reach the alternative ending always introduced for the anniversary: Abysstaker. Obtaining this requirement, however, it's not as simple as it might seem.
By reaching Abysstaker you will get the homonymous achievement and unlock, as already mentioned, Examtaker. However, it should be borne in mind that the steps required for Abysstaker are not so trivial. To get to the alternate ending, the player will have to collect special inscriptions hidden under stones in Helltaker chapters 4, 5 and 6, reachable only by moving following specific sequences.
In chapter 4 the inscription will be hidden under the boulder with the letter H, to reach it you will need to move as follows: 3 steps down, 1 to the right, 2 down, 1 to the right, 2 up, 1 to the right, 2 down, 1 to the right, 2 up, 2 to the right , 2 on the bottom, 2 on the right, 2 on the top.
In chapter 5 the rock in question is the one with the symbol in the shape of a house, the sequence is: 4 at the bottom, 5 on the right, 1 on the top, one on the bottom, 3 on the top, 1 on the left, 1 on the top, 2 on the left, 2 on the top, 2 on the right.
In chapter 6 the inscription will be found under the rock with circle, to get it the steps to do are: 1 to the left, 1 to the bottom, 2 to the right, 2 to the bottom, 2 to the left, 1 to the bottom, 2 to the left, 2 to the bottom, 4 to the right, 2 to the top, 2 left, 4 down, 3 right, 2 up, 4 right, 2 down, 2 left, 1 down, 2 right.
After doing this, it will eventually be necessary to get to theHelltaker's epilogue, position yourself in the center of the pentacle on the carpet ed perform the sequence of steps visible in the pause menu: down, up, right, up, left, down, down, left, up, down, right, up.
